Pros

  • Create Interactive Lessons Microsoft Mouse Mischief gives you everything that you need to create interactive lessons with full animates in Microsoft PowerPoint, all you have to do is compile your slides and set everything up.
  • Easy Polls and Questions You can create polls, questions that require students to draw in their answers, as well as complex multi-part questions that can prompt higher engagement in the classroom.

Cons

  • No Individual Reporting Option Individual reporting isn’t available in this program, so you won’t be able to easily identify what student keyed in what answer without doing a little investigating.
  • Lacks Anonymity This can be both a good and bad thing – if a student is struggling and their classmates figure out who they are, they could tease them for it.

Microsoft Mouse Mischief is a fun and easy tool that lets teachers create polls, interactive questions, and activity slides for their lessons.

If you’ve been struggling to find a way to get your students engaged, it’s time to try Microsoft Mouse Mischief! This program helps you create interactive lessons, easy polls and questions, as well as gauge class and individual participation in a more meaningful way.

It’s not easy to compete with a barrage of devices when teaching lessons, but with this program you won’t have to! Originally built as a helpful addition to PowerPoint, your students will be able to interact with lessons and take quizzes, helping you understand what topics need work and who and what to focus on during classes.

We love that students can actively participate in real-time – you’ll even be able to have them draw right into a slide to answer (very helpful if you’re working with math or questions that require more creative problem solving than checking off boxes!)

You can include these as basic slides in lessons and kids can click on the answer, or you can create animated slides with all the bells and whistles that’ll fit right in with whatever you’re teaching. You’ll be able to make unlimited customizations to each slide just like you already can in PowerPoint, and you’ll be encouraging students to actively participate and collaborate in class.

Studies have shown classes with multiple-mouse lessons help improve connection and understanding in classes with higher student-to-teacher ratios, and provides some great feedback for teachers as well.

It’s important to note that you’ll need either Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or above to get this software to work.

As far as interactive whiteboards go, Microsoft Mouse Mischief is a bit on the light side but it still offers a great way to work with students. Students won’t have full anonymity during participation and you won’t have a reporting feature that tells you which student answered what question, but it’s still a great tool to make lessons more interactive.
